TCMP 5.xx Devel

Site News We have had alot of people ask where TCMP development stands. It has progressed slower then anticipated as we have had some revalations on how we are potentially going to proceed with the TCMP 5.xx Core.

Officially we will have TCMP now know as part of The Core Media Technology Family of Projects and it will be featured as a major Open Source Project on CoreCodec.org along with projects like Matroska and The Core 'Pocket' Media Player aka TCPMP.

What you should know or wanna know about TCMP5 is that; It will have an XML based skinning engine. Is very minimalistic... think MPC but alot more powerful.... but one of the biggest features will be portability.

Portability you ask? Well TCMP will have the option to 'Pack and Go' so that you can have it create a set of codecs and settings for those codecs and the player interface itself and be able to move it to a new PC and or share it on a network drive. Pretty amazing stuff Toff ;-) (XML is powerful)

But... enough of the vaporware talk... next is the new website. Enjoy!

Welcome Spring Development

Site News Just wanted to keep you all in the loop on the happenings here with TCMP and CoreCodec. With all the excitement around here for some pretty big announcements that are coming... I should let you all know first that Toff has worked on adding the first of many additions to making the new Matroska menus system happen on TCMP. Also he has done many fixes to some of the more 'annoying' bugs some of you have submitted, but when asked which ones he simple said "I forgot, but there were alot" lol, gotta love Toff! On other news I am currently working on moving CoreCoded/TCMP to our new server and domain name by summer. This will also begin a new CMS here for TCMP... this will make it easier for those making skins to submit them. As for TCMP5 things have slowed to allow time for Blacksun to ride his Moto! Enjoy the spring my friend!

Happy New Year! Welcome 2005!

Site News Thank you all for a banner year here at CoreCodec. Looking at just a few of the stats amazes me... In this past year on our network of sites we have served over 20,000,000 unique users. Had over 3.0 Million downloads of The Core Media Player and had over 750,000 downloads from CoreCodec.org projects!

This upcoming year will see many changes, as the popularity of our sister project Matroska matures to become that 'all-in-one-file-DVD' solution it is destined to be... BetaPlayer continues to dominate in the PocketPC and Smartphone space and we predict a 10x increase in it's popularity in 2005 alone (slashdot here we come). Also our plans to migrate TCMP5 to an Open Source platform and transform CoreCodec.com and .org to a XIPH/SourceForge level with the help of sponsors and contributors as well as expanding services like project donations, project representation for corporations wishing to license software or IP, etc.

Your continuted support, proposals or suggestions are always appreciated as we enter 2005 on a high note @ betaboy@gmail.com or betaboy@corecodec.com

Regards,

Dan "BetaBoy" Marlin
